Exactly one year ago, on May 14, 2024, we laid the foundation of milli IC GmbH—built on ideas, vision, and a shared purpose. It is hard to believe that a full year has already passed. We would like to take this opportunity to briefly reflect on our first year and give a glimpse into our future.

As we believe is customary for most start-ups, the early phases weren’t always easy, and there were many ups and downs. We had to brush up on various bureaucratic, legal, and tax topics. We set up our office area in July, carried out preparatory work for the design environment and IT until September, and completed initial specification work by the end of 2024. As of 2025, we are now actively working on two customer ASIC design projects, with a third one planned to start in 2026. Additionally, milli IC’s own developments are scheduled to begin in the coming months, with a very active MPW schedule in 2026 and 2027. To support our growing workload, milli IC began expanding the development team.

To wrap things up, it has been an interesting, challenging, and instructive year for us. We are grateful to our investor VEGA, a global manufacturer of process instrumentation; to our advisor and co-founder Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ahmet Cagri Ulusoy from KIT, and to our advisor Dr. Domine Leenaerts, a seasoned industry expert.
